What Happened to Brendan Fraser

This is the tragic reason actor Brendan Fraser went from this to this in the late 90s and 2000s

Brendan Fraser was not only one of the biggest actors in Hollywood, starring in massive films like The Mummy trilogy, george of the Jungle, and Journey to the center of the Earth, but he was basically what Chris Hemsworth is to movies today.

But after reaching arguably the height of his career, he suddenly disappeared from Hollywood without an explanation

Only a decade later, in a 2018 interview, did he open up about this huge career decline, claiming to be blacklisted by Hollywood after being sexually assaulted by the former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

He said his left hand reached around, grabbed my ass cheek and one of his fingers touched me in the taint and he started moving it around

I felt ill, I felt like a little kid, I felt like it was a ball in my throat, I thought I was going to cry.

He admitted that he became depressed and reclusive after this incident, and not only was he battling with depression, he was also plagued by injuries from doing all the stunt work for his movies.

He had multiple invasive surgeries and was in and out of hospital for over seven years

And also during this period, he was going through a divorce and dealing with the death of his mother

Oh, and how could I forget? He was also ordered to pay a whopping $1.2 million a year in child support, which would eventually drain his bank account since he was no longer getting acting roles.

And then just when he thought he was going to make a comeback, he lost the role of Superman in Superman Returns.

He said that the the loss of this role ultimately made him feel like he didn't measure up and he had failed

Fast forward to 2022 and the now 52 year old actor is set to play a 600 pound recluse who is battling with depression and obesity in the upcoming movie called The Whale.
