The Social Security payment schedule for August 2022. This includes retirement, disability, SSDI survivors, and SSI beneficiaries. I have all the details and the key dates you want to know, though, right here in this topic, so let’s get right into it. All right, now, there are only a handful of dates each and every month where the Social Security Administration distributes payments to the tens of millions of beneficiaries. However, if you’re anything like me, you’re constantly looking at the calendar wondering when is the next check going to arrive?
Because as the calendar adjusts each and every month, that just means for the vast majority of beneficiaries, your benefit is probably going to be arriving on a different date as well, with the exception of some of the beneficiaries. However, on this topic, I do want to run through all those key dates for you so you can know when your payment is likely going to arrive and what this means for you going forward throughout the month of August. Let’s get into it and discuss all the details and the magical dates where you are going to get paid. Let’s get right into it, however, really fast. I am your one and only daily advocate and I’m doing all the research each and every day. Breaking it all down into these short topics. Which I deliver a couple of times each and every day so you can stay updated with what is actually going on right now during this very busy time. Especially as we’re getting all of these new pieces of legislation.
New bills. Pieces of reform. Announcements out of the President. Announcements out of Congress. All kinds of different packages being introduced.
As well as money. Benefits. Raises to benefits. And all kinds of other things that continue to hit the wire each and every day. But either way, I’m doing all the research and bringing it to you on these topics so you can stay tuned with what is actually going on right now and how it’s going to impact your monthly benefit going forward and possibly get some more money into your pocket.
Let’s get into it and discuss when is the money going to arrive. Great question. Let’s walk through all of these dates here and I will tell you when it’s going to be arriving. For about 70 million beneficiaries of all the benefits across Social Security, it’s a lot of money going out the door.
So let’s talk about all these dates now. Again, the month of August has a little bit different date structure than all of the other months, so let’s talk through all these dates. Number one SSI Beneficiaries Supplemental Security Income. You are first on the list because your payments arrive on the first of the month. Therefore, the first of the month is landing on a Monday, and there are no delays and or prepayments to your benefit.
Therefore, it will be arriving on Monday, August 1, which again, most of you probably know this, but in the event that it ever lands on a holiday and or a weekend, then we get a little adjustment to the payment date for SSI Beneficiaries. So, SSI, be sure to continue watching your bank account and or your Direct Express Card wherever you receive your payments, as that will be arriving on Monday, August 1. Pretty exciting, right? Yeah, exactly. Also, by the way, can you believe August already?
I mean, seriously, where has this year been going so far? It’s crazy, right? Anyway, I just want to throw that out there because it is just like zipping right on by. All right, so next, August 3, which happens to be a Wednesday. Now, I do want to throw this date out there because I do know that there are a lot of you in this community who do receive your benefits on the third of the month, which just so happens to be Wednesday.
So, again, there’s no delays on that payment either. Make sure that you are watching your bank account, your Direct Express Card, or wherever you typically receive your payment as that day, wednesday, August 3. Again, another key date where payments will be going out the door. Next, let’s quickly fast forward out to the 10 August, which happens to be a Wednesday. This is the second Wednesday of the month.
And for those of you who have a birthday landing between the first and the 10th of the month, you know what this means, right? It is payday. Here’s what’s kind of cool about it. For those of you who have a birthday on the 10th, check it out. You’re getting a little birthday gift on the 10th, right?
You get paid on the 10th. Pretty cool, right? So it’s not all that often that your payment lands on your birthday, but in this case, for those of you who have a birthday on the 10 August, then check it out. Not only is it your birthday on the 10 August, which by the way, happy Birthday in advance, but now you also get paid on that day as well. So pretty cool.
This is just for those people that have a birthday landing between the first and the 10th of the month, and then again, your payment lands on the second Wednesday. Next, let’s fast forward out to August 17. This just so happens to be a Wednesday. Also, for those of you that have a birthday landed between the 11th and the 20th of the month, your payment is going to be landing on Wednesday, August 17. So be watching.
Again, your bank account, your Direct Express Card, wherever it is that you typically receive your payment. As for those of you that have a birthday landing, again between the 11th and the 20th of the month, yours will be landing in your bank account or on your Direct Express Card on that day, which is Wednesday, August 17. Again, very exciting, right? Next, let’s fast forward out to August 25. Now, this is the fourth Wednesday of the month, and for those of you that have a birthday landing between the 21st and the 31st of the month, then your payments will be arriving on this day, the fourth Wednesday of the month, which is August 25.
So again, continue watching your bank accounts, your Direct Express Card, and wherever it is that you typically receive your payment. And again, you will likely see it landing on your bank account or wherever you get it on that day, August 25, which again is a Wednesday. So pretty exciting. That is the payment schedule for all the beneficiaries. So, one more cool thing.
If you’re somebody who receives or who has a Direct Express card, generally, I’m going to be honest with you, I do not have a Direct Express card. However, I have heard and I’ve talked to many of you down in the comments section, generally, before your payment actually posts on your account, it sounds like it does pend on your Direct Express card for usually about two or possibly even three days before the payment actually arrives. So if you’re a Direct Express card holder, you may want to check your online account, as in maybe you have the Direct Express app or wherever you check your account. But again, you probably see your payment pending there as well. But at the same time, this probably is no surprise or it’s not even news to you because you probably already know this, but again, I just want to throw that out there because it’s always nice to see the money pending, right?
But at the same time, even though it’s nice to see it pending at the same time, I think a lot of us are thinking it’s not all that nice because it’s almost like a little tease, right? You see the money there, you can’t get it. And then they continue to dangle that carrot and they say, hey, this money is going to come to you in three days from right now. You’ll get access to it. So it’s nice to see it that it’s coming.
But at the same time, it’s also like, just give it to me right now. I want it right now, right? Or more like, I need it right now. Not so much I want it, but more like, I think it’s all coming down to I need it right now, right? So I think that’s the case that many people are living through right now.
But anyway, these are the dates for you right now. Out. Again, just a really super basic topic, but at the same time, as I said at the beginning of this topic, seriously, all the dates continue to change every single month. I’m constantly looking at the calendar wondering when’s the check going to arrive this month, what’s my magical date this time? Right?
Because it does change. It does adjust up or down a few days, a handful of days. And that’s the difference between getting your payment quickly or getting your payment quite a few days later throughout the month. So yes, it does adjust. However, with the exception of those people receiving their payments on like the first of the month and the third of the month, then generally those payments are usually going out pretty much on the same time each and every month.
However, with the exception of when the first actually lands on, call it a weekend or a holiday, then of course you get your payment a few days early, right? That’s what’s pretty cool about it. So one example for that would be actually New Year’s Day, right? New Year’s Day is a holiday. Therefore SSI beneficiaries, you get your payments early and if the first happened to land on a Monday, then check it out.
Then generally you get your payment like three days early. You get it the Friday before. So when New Year’s Day lands on a Monday, that’s like the best of all the worlds because you get your SSI payment like three days early. Pretty cool stuff, right? So anyway, that was just one quick example, but again, I just want to throw this out there for you, give you a quick payment schedule here for when Social Security will be sending out their payments this month.
Again, this encompasses about 70 million beneficiaries, a lot of people, right across all those benefits Social Security, retirement, disability, SSDI survivors, and of course SSI. Anyway, I hope this one helps you out. I know it’s a super basic topic, but again, at the same time, we also have to watch the calendar. We want to know when our payments are going to be arriving and I hope this one kind of gives you a little bit more clarity on what’s actually going on here. And of course.
As I do get more details on any of these other packages. Proposals. Pieces of legislation or anything else going on right now to raise benefits or adjust these very important programs for all the millions of beneficiaries. Of course, I’ll be right here for you breaking it all down. As I do know that the vast majority of you in this community are fixed-income beneficiaries and I truly want to help you out in any way that I can by watching this stuff closely as Congress is working on some different things right now and some of them are looking pretty promising as far as reforming these very important programs and raising benefits for millions upon millions of beneficiaries.
So, pretty cool stuff. There are some specific pieces of legislation out there to reform Social Security and raise benefits, as well as adjust some other things about Social Security, as well as there are some other pieces of legislation to specifically focus on SSI, Supplemental Security Income. So a lot of different moving parts out there, but either way, I’ll continue watching all that closely. And of course, I’ll keep you posted with anything going on right now as it pertains to your monthly benefit, money, benefits, checks, new bills, pieces of legislation, and reform. Anything else out there that we can grab right now.
